You’ve read about therapy from my perspective — now, read about it from theirs.
What would you like to share about your experience coming to therapy?
I was always quite hesitant to start therapy because I always thought that I can handle all situations myself and stay independent. However, for me therapy was necessary to face my past traumas and work on emotional wellbeing. So far, I felt very welcomed to open up about my issues and concerns. I believe I made the best choice to start it and work on my growth. Also, I would say that I noticed a big shift, how I was before and who I became. I was ( and still) able to improve my friendships, relationships, and professional relationships.
What is something that would’ve been helpful to know when you were considering starting yourself?
I think I needed more examples that therapy is not scary. I needed more encouragement from my surroundings.
I can add this from my end: Eva is a very attentive and caring psychologist. She makes the sessions very comfortable and safe.
Her practices and suggestions broaden my horizons for my emotional well-being.
Going to therapy is never a bad option. This is something that I knew, but putting it in practice is the hardest part. Before reaching out, I read websites such as this one and was wondering what to do with this information. In my opinion, the best way is to try out and feel the person. Regardless of which therapist you decide to go with, the first meetings will bring options that can help.
I met Eva in October 2023 to talk about the dynamics in my household, and to share about topics that I was unable to address with my close people. From this and over time we ended up talking about creativity, family, and what genuinely makes me passionate (but that I didn’t see as such).
Eva is wholesome and patient. I always felt free to talk about any topic. Even if I left the room after having cried my heart out (not always of course <: ), I think Eva helped a lot.
My name is J.Q., and l’m from Helsinki Finland. l have a Masters in Applied Cognitive Psychology, and l’ve been had the pleasure of having Eva as my therapist since May 2023.
Eva has helped me in more ways than l can count: topics such as suicidality, addiction, sexuality, emotions, ptsd, family, relationships, neurodivergency, and much more relating to how l can start living life without the burdens of my past. I owe my life to her, and l have nothing but the utmost respect for her.
She is amazing, kind, smart, and compassionate. She knows a lot, and if she doesn’t know something she will investigate it. She even has written additional files as self-study material that l have used for my own self-development; Eva is amazing and l can testify to her capabilities as a therapist.
For anyone looking to start their therapy journey: its okay to be nervous and scared. Just come as you are, and be yourself. Her sessions are safe-spaces, where nothing else exists outside of your discussions. You get what you give: Be honest and don’t lie, there is no judgement, only the way forward on your way to living a beautiful and fulfilling life.
Living and happy,
J.Q.
I have gone to therapy at different stages of my life for different reasons. One thing Eva taught me is that therapy should never be a crutch. It’s more like going to the gym—and you often go not only when you have an injury, but when you’re healthy, too. I find Eva to be a great match for me. She is thoughtful and kind but she also shares things I might not have considered. I’m still on my journey in mental health, but I can say that I’m very glad to have had Eva in my life and I can only recommend her five stars all the way.
