Starting therapy
I offer individual therapy in English and Spanish, in Leiden or online. In my practice, I work with people navigating family or relationship challenges, those looking to process past traumatic or painful experiences, and anyone seeking to break free from dysfunctional patterns. Whether you’re facing stress, uncertainty about the future, interpersonal difficulties, or simply wanting to live a more meaningful life, you’re welcome here.
Even if we have friends, family or romantic partners we can rely on, it is not always possible to freely express all our thoughts and feelings. This is what therapy is for, to provide a space where it is possible to do so.
I work with people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

During therapy, we will…
- Understand how past experiences have shaped you and how to integrate them.
- Recognize deep-rooted patterns that keep resurfacing in your life.
- Work through any unresolved issues that may be affecting your well-being and relationships.
- Integrate all parts of yourself into a coherent sense of Self.
- Explore how long-held beliefs and behaviors limit you.
- Differentiate between emotions (e.g. sadness), states of your nervous system (e.g. fawn), and their meaning (e.g. I feel abandoned).
- Increase your tolerance to stay with painful emotions and remain grounded in the process.
- Learn how to communicate in a way that is authentic to you while respecting others.
MY APPROACH IS…
- Integrative. I bring together insights and tools from various therapeutic approaches, allowing them to complement one another according to what the situation requires. I primarily draw from humanistic, emotion-focused, and systemic approaches.
- Relationship-focused. Relationships can be sources of hurt, but also of deep support and healing. For that reason, I put a special emphasis on:
- Exploring the relationships in your life and the system they belong to — family, romantic, friendships, workplace, etc.
- The therapeutic relationship. The connection and trust between you and your therapist contribute far more to change and healing than the specific techniques or methods used.
- Trauma-informed. Trauma is the wound that a painful event leaves in us. It is a wound that limits our ability to act and express ourselves, disconnects us from ourselves, distorts our view of the world, and makes us unable to be in the present moment. Traumatic wounds are at the root of our suffering, tending to them is necessary for our healing.
- Emotion-focused. Our emotions are our most reliable messengers. They guide us to our wounds, reveal our needs, and provide us with the language to communicate sincerely.
What do I work with?
