About me

EVA (she/her)

I was born in Burgos, a city in the north of Spain. Despite growing up in a town where most people shared the same cultural background, my family had a love for travel and always encouraged me to explore other cultures and learn new languages. I lived in Burgos throughout my childhood and adolescence, besides the two occasions when I lived abroad. The first was in France for six months, and the second was in the US for almost a year. When the time came to start university, I chose psychology, and the Netherlands.

I’ve been on both sides of the therapy room: as the therapist and as the client/patient. Going through my own journey has taught me just as much, if not more, about the therapeutic process as my formal studies. I deeply respect our willingness to move forward in the most difficult moments and our longing to know ourselves.

Starting out as a freelance psychologist required developing an entirely different skill set, one that had little to do with psychology: learning how to be self-employed in a foreign country. While I aspired to become a psychologist, I never envisioned myself as an entrepreneur. Navigating this part of my profession took patience and the guidance of those who had been there before.
